Abstract

|
This study investigated welfare technology living labs as an user-driven innovation process and network between actors in order to explore the theoretical and practical methods for activating welfare technology. After examining the issues and types of living labs were examined theoretically, this study analyzed the experiences of develop welfare technology using qualitative approach, and the three cases according to the types. The results revealed a low level of understanding of welfare needs, the distinct limitations of current industrial-government cooperative system. It suggests the needs of welfare technology living labs which enable the structured user participation, active network between actors, and a practical connection to the community. The case analysis showed that the close cooperation between actors in living labs enabled various future values to each participant. In conclusion, this study confirmed that living labs and platform approach can be an useful strategy for solving social problems and welfare service innovation.
